Meet Reese! Reese joined her foster home on November 13 so she can recuperate and get spoiled. Per her foster family, within a day, she started showing affection and trust by snuggling, giving kisses, staying close, following everyone around. She gets along well with our rambunctious Pitbull, loves to play with her, and take naps with her. Reese loves walks and does not react to other dogs barking at her or cats running around. We are feeding her home cooked meals mixed with high quality kibble to make sure she gets the nutrition she needs to gain weight and be healthy. She has a very kind and sweet disposition, is very quiet, rarely barks. She does “talk” like Huskies do to let you know she needs to go outside or that she needs a hug or a treat. Her playful and observant personality is shining through. She is very intelligent: Reese knows how to sit and give kisses for a treat, listens when she has to calm down from playing, loves taking her toys to a favorite spot in the backyard. She definitely lived in a home before, she learned her way around the house quickly and is well behaved. She is She takes a few meetings with new people to be comfortable around them. Reese will make a perfect calm and beautiful addition to a family who will give her all the love she deserves! She is a gorgeous German Shepherd- Siberian Husky. Looking into her striking light blue eyes will tell you everything she wants you to know. She would brighten even the cloudiest of days.
Reese was turned in to the Contra Costa Animal Shelter Martinez by a good Samaritan on November 4. She recently had puppies but was separated from them when she was found. Their fate is unknown. Reese was hit by a car but is walking and running normally with no sign of injury or pain. Understandably, Reese was scared and unsure about trusting anyone because of the trauma she has experienced. She was on the fast track of being put down within a week before she had the chance to get out of the shelter to decompress, destress, and be given the love to heal as she deserves. Her Spay and neuter appointment is pending availability at the shelter.
