Jazz was found as a stray and then brought into CCAS in Martinez, where he spent 100 days before facing the heartbreaking possibility of euthanasia. We couldn’t let that happen to this gentle soul, so we brought him home to foster him.
Jazz is a lovable goofball with a heart of gold. His playful spirit and kind nature made him a star at the shelter’s playgroup, where he helped shy dogs come out of their shells. That’s just who Jazz is – a natural friend to all.
In our home with young children (4 years and 10 months), Jazz has shown incredible gentleness, giving sweet kisses and taking treats with the softest touch. While his large size sometimes leads to accidental bumps with our little ones – think excited puppy in a big dog’s body! – his intentions are always pure love.
Given his energetic nature and size, Jazz would thrive in a home with older children (7+) who can match his playful energy and won’t be knocked over during excited moments. He’s equally happy as an only dog or with canine siblings, and he’s proven to be an enthusiastic hiking and running companion on local trails. Like many young dogs, he still needs some work on leash training to curb his pulling, but he’s eager to learn and responds well to positive reinforcement.
Whether you’re looking for a devoted family member or an adventure partner, Jazz is that perfect blend of playful energy and gentle affection. He’s ready to fill your home with love, laughter, and a whole lot of tail wags.
Jazz is located with a loving foster family in Pleasant Hill, CA
