About Emmett

Emmett is a 6-year-old, neutered male who is fun-sized at 25lbs! He is shy/careful and needs time to meet and warm up to strangers. He is affectionate but he is not needy for attention. He loves basking in the sun and going for lots of walks. An active home is recommended. Easy on leash he will heel with mild correction. He has not exhibited reactivity with other dogs, after sniff introductions exhibited interest in playing. Public dogs parks are a possibility with careful introductions. He likes to wander, sniff, and explore. He has prey drive for squirrels and stray cats and should not be off leash. Emmett is house-trained and is good at communicating when he needs to go out. He is crate-trained and he can be left at home alone for extended periods but he is very happy when his human returns. He has short bursts of puppy energy but responds well to expectations and commands. He enjoys squeaky toys and and will run after them for exercise. He is a medium-energy dog and can chill on his bed if his human is busy. Emmett has a robust personality and is a goofball! He needs a patient and experienced owner who understands and respects dog body language and who will take things slow with him. Emmett has a bite on record and was surrendered to the shelter. He is dog selective and will require a slow introduction if other dogs are in the home.
