About Buck

This good boy was found roaming in Wildcat Canyon park in Richmond, CA at the end of September 2024 and taken to the Contra Costa Animal Shelter. Two weeks later, his finder saved him from the shelter’s October 16 kill list. She saved Buck (formerly Spider) to give him more time to find a family of his own, but she is not in a position to keep him long term.

Buck is being shuttled between foster homes and spends most of his time living in the finder’s garage, with access to the backyard. A neighbor takes him on lunchtime walks while the foster is at work.

Buck is loved by many in his village, but is deserving of his own people. He is a neutered, loving, healthy, happy boy.

Buck loves all people, but we recommend a family without small children because he can be enthusiastic when playing and running. He loves to please and he aced his obedience and dog-meet training sessions. Buck gets along with dogs of similar size with proper introductions, but we recommend no small dogs for him. He is not interested in cats one way or another. He would be fine living with savvy cats.

Whoever Buck’s future humans are, they will be lucky to have him! ❤️
