About Betsy

Hi, my name is Betsy. I am a 5-8ish year-old dog looking for someone patient who will take the time to learn about me. I can be a little shy, but with treats and patience, I will open up and share the love I have to offer. I enjoy being around people I trust and will give lots of hugs and kisses once I get to know you.

Betsy is currently getting her college education at a Board and Training Camp. Here is some feedback from her training team:
Betsy had some pretty big fears of the outside world when she first came to hang out with us here in board and train at High Sierra Lifeline K9 rescue. But, once she got comfortable, she had almost TOO much confidence and thought she needed to control everything. it was definitely an interesting mix of emotions!
Betsy has been working hard on existing in the world without the need to run and hide when she’s uncertain. She’s learning to look to her handler when she doesn’t know what to do or is feeling anxious and she’s working on letting the things going on around her (other dogs barking and playing, the cats roaming around…etc..) without needing to be all up in the business
Betsy is picking up basic obedience and is powering through some separation anxiety like a scholar pursuing a PhD. When she’s uncomfortable she LOVES her crate, but she can get anxious when she knows her people aren’t around. She has been very good in her crate but gets a little whiny-barky when she knows you’re leaving. she is the definition of a Velcro-dog – she wants to be with you everywhere you go.
She is an absolute LOVER and bonds so strong with her people! She loves butt scratches, couch lounging, patrolling her turf, keeping the ever-Elusive kangaroo mice and bunny rabbits in their lane on her walks and most of all, she loves YOU.
Betsy is one of those heart-dogs that you only get once in a lifetime. Her smile can brighten the darkest day, and her kisses melt any sorrow immediately away. You just have to give her the chance
Although she needs to be your one and only pet and dog parks sound like unnecessary torture to her, Betsy has more than enough personality to keep your heart full and the smiles coming for years.
Betsy will continue working on her social skills and confidence while she looks for her furever humans AND she will come with free training for life, just like any of our dogs would.
While Betsy still has some work to do, she would love to start meeting you! Reach out to us and we can connect you with her rescue

Betsy is located in the Tahoe area of NorCal. Transport can be arranged.
